Supporting the Indigenous People of the Amazon
Latitud 0 actively supports the initiatives taken by indigenous communities in the Amazon to oppose the establishment of oil wells in areas rich in biodiversity. We organize a variety of 6 to 8-day excursions into the heart of the Amazon. These immersive journeys provide unique opportunities to engage with the Waorani and Kichwa communities of the Yasuni National Park, a biosphere reserve recognized by UNESCO since 1989. These visits provide essential financial assistance to the communities, enhancing their autonomy and enabling them to amplify their voices in the ongoing struggle to safeguard their natural and ancestral heritage.
Our programs are not only designed to offer unforgettable experiences but to foster a deeper understanding and respect for the delicate balance of life in the Amazon. By choosing to explore with us, you become part of a movement that prioritizes sustainable tourism and the well-being of the indigenous communities, who are the true guardians of
this precious environment.
Supporting the Bosque Mulchi Muyo Foundation
The “Bosque Mulchi Muyu” Foundation is committed to environmental protection, reforestation, and preserving the rich biodiversity of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest near Tena. The focus extends beyond ecosystem conservation, as they are also dedicated to protecting the culture and way of life of the Kichwa families who have inhabited these lands for generations. Additionally, they teach young people the importance of nature by involving them in projects such as ancestral medicine, beekeeping, and learning about ecosystems to spark their interest and passion. This way, they offer the local youth a better future, nurturing an interest in studying and being able to contribute their knowledge to continue caring for nature.
